Today was another good day, but I am not finished telling you about yesterday. After a hella amazing morning at coffee I headed over to Gallagher’s and restocked for brunch bar. Normally brunch bar is only on Sundays, but since it was a two-day weekend for the community it’s also a double brunch bar weekend. I can always tell how hard the McMurdites went the night before based on how much booze I have to restock. Seemed like they had a good time Friday night, haha.
After resupplying all the boozes, I scooted on over to the gerbil gym for day five of my fitness streak. I’ve been power walking at the steepest incline for a couple of miles in addition to my yoga stretch session, ab routine and then a couple of thirty-day challenges that are posted on the wall in the gym-a tuchus and arms challenge to be precise. If I have time I also do some exercises with the dumbbells too. It feels good to sweat again after my lil break from routine.
I came back to my humble abode and took a quick shower before grabbing some brunch and heading to the store. Seared Ahi tuna for the brunch win and then lots of counting in the store as I worked to get ahead of the big inventory count this week. Lots of shoppers, too, as everyone scrambles to get their final souvenirs before heading North. Shortly after the store closed for the mid afternoon break between shopping hours my friend, Eleni, rang the store to tell me to go outside and look up. We are currently being graced with rare nacreous clouds during civil twilight and they are everything. I think I like them even more than the auroras. Hope on over to my Instagram to see a pic! When they are out, it is like the sky becomes an oil painting of iridescent colors that just leave you in awe. Mother nature is the best.
After more counting and then dinner, Pepper, came over for a bit and we had one of tea times. She’s all moved into her new room, so we don’t live down the hall from each other anymore. My room doesn’t have a couch, so we hung out on the ground on yoga mats sipping La Croix and doing the gal chat thing. This weeks special Pepper’ism’ the two-way bullshit dam. She explained that part of the role of a good leader is to be the keeper of the two-way bullshit dam. Stop word of the silly little things that your subordinates do, that will ultimately sort themselves out from getting to management above you and also, filter the things that management above you shares that aren’t relevant (yet, and might put a damper on morale) from getting to your subordinates. Love me some Pepperisms! She is scheduled to leave in just under two-weeks and I am really going to miss her. I am hopeful that our paths will cross again somewhere in this big little world.
After she left, I did day five of Yoga with Adriene and hopped into bed feeling super content. A great day. I watched a documentary in the evening called, Chasing the Present and it was the perfect end cap to such a heart so full kind of day.
