Last night’s darts were a success. We played in teams, with the same partner for all three games in the tournament. My partner was Ed, the Engineering Maintenance Supervisor at Scott Base. We won all three games and I threw pretty well. In the middle of the evening, the Scott Base radios went off telling us to stop our games and head outside for some auroras-yay! Scott Base has an unobstructed view of the Ross Ice Shelf and Sea. The auroras were so strong that they were visible without the use of a camera. Very exciting. I did take some photos, but they aren’t great quality. I will get them on Instagram soon. I am super excited to finally have seen them properly.
We were advised today that Starlink Sunday, which is tomorrow, might not be a thing this week. They think that the wind damaged our dish, so that is a bummer. Apparently, Denver are working on it, but who knows how long til Starlink returns. Sad face. Honestly, the internet isn’t terrible here anymore, now that the population is so small. The big difference is that Starlink allows us to have access on our phones, not just laptops.
Today was just another day in the life of store lady. I’m pretty tired. I did have my coffee shift this morning and I took a little nap this afternoon. It’s Pride month and tonight is the big Drag Night party, so I am going out for that. There is going to be a roast, not the dinner, the kind where people roast other people. Verbal Abuse. My favorite. I am headed over to one of the dorms shortly to get all glittered up. Happy Pride!
